Brazilian telco Oi is set to appoint Francisco Valim as its new CEO, according to local media reports.
Newspaper Estadao reported yesterday that an internal email at Valim’s current company, the credit rating consultants Experian, had said he would be joining Oi as CEO.
Valim is currently the president of Experian’s operations in EMEA and Latin America. He had previously worked as Oi’s CFO, and prior to that as the president of Net Servicos and as a vice-president at RBS.
He will replace Luiz Eduardo Falco, who will be stepping down in June. Valim will reportedly be taking up his new job in September.
Oi did not reply to questions before the press deadline. Estadao reported that within 10 days there would be a shareholders meeting to announce Valim’s appointment.
Oi would not comment on the reports.
