France Telecom is reviewing its minority investments in Portugal and Austria, Bloomberg reports quoting CEO Stephane Richard.
He reportedly added that there might be one or two other countries where the divestment question could be asked, but emphasised that the Belgian operations were not being considered for sale.
Earlier this month, the French incumbent said it would examine options for its European operations, excluding France, Poland and Spain.
France Telecom holds 35% of Orange Austria and 20% of Sonaecom, which owns Portugal’s smallest mobile operator, Optimus.
Private equity firm Mid Europa Partners owns 65% of Orange Austria.
Portuguese multi-sector retailer Sonae SGPS owns 53.17% in Sonaecom, which is listed in Lisbon.
Richard was quoted saying that the review of France Telecom’s European portfolio would be a topic at the investor day scheduled for May 31.
