Following France Telecom’s entrance into Iraq, and last month’s US$400m debt facility from the IFC, Zain Iraq has announced plans to expand coverage to Kurdistan, the heartland of Korek.
In its first phase, service will reach all areas in the northern provinces, while a second phase will include remote villages and roads in the north leading to complete coverage of the country, Zain said, adding that Kurdish will join Arabic and English as working languages.
