Benoit Scheen will leave his position as CEO of Belgium’s Mobistar to become executive vice president of Europe (excluding France) of France Telecom-Orange on 1 September.
He will replace Olaf Swantee who will become CEO of Everything Everywhere in the UK after Tom Alexander stepped down.
In his new position Scheen, 45, will be in responsible for operations in Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Dominican Republic, Luxembourg, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland. France Telecom said that the European area (excluding France) represented over 60 million users and E12.5bn revenues at the end of 2010.
France Telecom holds 52.9% of Mobistar.
