Spanish retailer El Corte Ingles has reportedly dropped its plans to create a new MVNO, “Sweno”.
According to a report by the local Movilonia website, El Corte Ingles has decided to scrap its plans to launch Sweno, despite having come to an agreement to use the network of Movistar, the Telefonica brand.
El Corte Ingles did not reply to questions before the press deadline.
According to Movilonia, this decision follows a string of other planned MVNOs that failed to materialise in Spain, including MVNOs from media group Vocento and Alcampo, the Spanish supermarket subsidiary of the French group Auchan.
