The Italian ISP Siportal is set to become a national telephone operator, according to local media reports.
The IGN news website reported on Wednesday that Siportal would now be able to offer nationwide telephone services after acquiring a national operator licence in 2010 and signing a wholesale agreement with BT Italy.
BT told TelecomFinance that the wholesale agreement with Siportal allowed the Italian company to use BT Italy’s network for internet and voice services.
