Turkish mobile operator Turkcell is to launch a German MVNO on 4 April, reports Telegeography citing financial website Finanznachrichten.
Running on Deutsche Telekom’s network, this venture will represent Turkcell’s ninth country of operation.
Turkcell has reportedly set up a Cologne-based subsidiary called Turkcell Europe, which aims to promote a ‘unique experience’ for Turkish and German subscribers.
Turkcell announced its 5-year wholesale agreement with DT in October, when its CEO Sureyya Ciliv said: “We are happy that we can now meet communications and technology needs of our citizens and people in Germany [which reportedly number 3.5 million] who have close ties with Turkey through our high quality products and services.”
Turkcell and Deutsche Telekom could not be reached for comment by press time.
