The Brazilian news website Teletime reported on Friday that Oi had invited Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and ZTE.
According to the report, Oi is the first carrier to engage in LTE preparations ahead of a future auction for 4G spectrum in Brazil in the future.
Reportedly the market expectation is that the first LTE networks will be introduced before the 2014 football World Cup in the country.
Oi did not reply to questions before the press deadline.
