UK ISPs including BT, Virgin Media and Sky will reportedly set out a voluntary code of conduct on 16 March to address issues surrounding internet traffic management.
The providers hope the new code will head off net neutrality concerns, helping the sector avoid mandatory obligations being introduced by regulators, reported The Guardian.
Under the plan, ISPs will reveal how they ‘throttle’ services to ensure capacity for all consumers on a network, however, they will not commit to a minimum service standard, the report adds.
