Cellco China Mobile is looking to list its operations in mainland China this year, chairman Wang Jianzhou has told the Wall Street Journal.
But he reportedly added that the exact date for the IPO would depend on the country’s regulators, who are currently drafting a plan to encourage red chip companies to come back to mainland China.
Red chips companies are mainland China companies whose shares are listed in Hong Kong. According to the Wall Street Journal, Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba.com is also considering floating its shares in mainland China.
