Last year, the state commission for radio frequencies was reported to have approved a plan to launch a tender to sell 4G frequencies in 2011.
Mobile operator BeST reportedly received permission last year to test a 4G LTE network and it is expected to submit the results to the regulator by May 1.
Belarus’ three mobile operators BeST, Velcom and MTS Belarus hold GSM and 3G licences.
Neither the company nor the authorities were immediately available for comments.
