Stephane Richard will become chairman of France Telecom on March 1 in addition to his current role as CEO.
As reported last week, Didier Lombard submitted his resignation as chairman to the board of directors on February 23.
Lombard was sidelined from the management of France Telecom after a wave of suicides which was attributed to the management practices under his leadership. On March 1 2010, Stephane Richard, who was CEO delegate, took up the role of CEO in charge of the group’s operations. Lombard remained chairman.
