Slim’s Embratel increases stake in Net

Embratel, the Brazilian telco controlled by Carlos Slim, has increased its stake in the Brazilian TV and internet provider Net.

Embratel, the Brazilian telco controlled by Carlos Slim, has increased its stake in the Brazilian TV and internet provider Net.

The company announced yesterday that it had acquired a 21.81% stake in Net.

Embratel is a subsidiary of Grupo Embrapar, which also holds shares in Net. The two companies together now hold 97.6% of all preferred shares in the company.
