Incumbent Portugal Telecom has increased the share capital of fixed-line services division PT Comunicacoes by E1bn, according to reports translating local paper Diario Economico.
PT Comunicacoes’ capital now reportedly comprises 1.15 billion shares with a nominal value of E1, following an injection that was completed on 30 December 2010.
The capital increase used the proceeds of PT’s E7.5bn divestment of Brazilian mobile operator Vivo in 2010, the reports add.
PT did not respond to requests for comment before the press deadline.
