Danish cable group Stofa is set to acquire Canal Digital’s Danish cable interests for approximately DKK100m (E13.42m).
The acquisition, which is still awaiting regulatory approval, is part of Stofa’s plans to build on television, internet and telephony presence in Denmark.
“As a Nordic TV operator, we do not have any synergies within the cable and antenna association market, between the different Nordic countries,” said Jarl Soderman CEO of Canal Digital Denmark.
“Thus, Canal Digital is too small to develop new services and products within the cable TV market in Denmark. I am convinced that cable customers within the antenna association market will obtain a highly professional and visionary partner in Stofa.”
Canal Digital, which is owned by Norwegian incumbent Telenor, expects the transaction will complete in the first quarter of this year.
