Poland’s second and third largest cable operator Vectra and Multimedia Polska are considering swapping assets with a view to strengthening their respective positions against UPC, according to BroadbandTVNews..
UPC has recently reinforced its dominant position with the acquisition of the country’s fourth cable player Aster. The transaction is expected to close in H1.
According to the reports, Vectra and Multimedia Polska confirmed their intention to swap assets but the latter denied willing to leave the profitable Warsaw market where UPC and Aster are leaders but where Vectra is also present.
The companies were not immediately available for comments.
