US telco Sprint Nextel has appointed Qwest Communications’s Joseph Euteneuer to become its CFO after the completion of the proposed merger between Qwest and CenturyLink.

US telco Sprint Nextel has appointed Qwest Communications’s Joseph Euteneuer to become its CFO after the completion of the proposed merger between Qwest and CenturyLink.
Euteneuer will replace Sprint’s current CFO, Bob Brust.
Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse, said: “Joe has an excellent reputation in the industry and has a strong background in a variety of financial disciplines, including finance and accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and financial operations.”
Sprint told TelecomFinance that it had carried out an extensive search for a CFO and had interviewed several strong candidates, but Joseph Euteneuer emerged as the best choice.
