Indian telecom minister Kapil Sibal will meet the executives of several Indian telcos in order to discuss the issues affecting the sector amid the 2G scam, according to local reports.
Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata, Reliance ADA chairman Anil Ambani and Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Mittal are expected to discuss with Sibal separately. Vodafone and Idea Cellular may also attend some meetings.
Earlier this month, Sibal said that notices would be soon sent to several cellcos asking them to explain why their licences should not be cancelled. This follows months of controversy surrounding the allocation of underpriced 2G spectrum in 2008 and allegations of favouritism.
