The Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has rejected a request from Indian cellco Tata Teleservices to get additional spectrum, according to local reports.
Tata, a CDMA operator, had reportedly filed a petition in order to obtain as much spectrum as GSM players have.
While GSM operators get a start-up spectrum of 4.4MHz, CDMA players get 2.5MHz, reported the Business Line newspaper.
But the TDSAT ruled that Tata failed to establish that it should be treated equally as GSM operators and that the decision was unconstitutional.
