Deutsche Telekom has extended the chairmanship of René Obermann by five years to 31 October 2016.
Obermann had been due to step down at the end of October next year, but will stay on to help implement the incumbent’s high-speed networks strategy, which was announced last May and is expected to last until 2015.
“We will implement our new strategy consistently and use high-speed networks and innovative products to tap new growth areas for the group, offsetting the decline in the tightly regulated areas,” said Obermann in a statement.
“The next few years are all about pushing ahead with the transformation of Deutsche Telekom.”
