The chairman of Ukraine’s State Property Fund announced that six companies had expressed an interest in the privatisation of telecoms incumbent Ukrtelecom, Millenium Capital reports on its website.
The SPF plans to hold an auction on December 28 to sell the state’s 92.8% stake in the telecoms incumbent.
Russian group Sistema, which owns MTS Ukraine, and local firm SCM, which owns fixed-line operator Vega and co-owns mobile operator Astelit, are among the potential investors in Ukrtelecom.
According to Millenium Capital, Sistema is the most likely buyer.
