Sri Lankan telco Lanka Bell has been put on sale by its owner, Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka, according to a public advertisement released by consultancy KPMG.
A partner at KPMG Ford, Rhodes, Thornton & Company confirmed that 99.99% of the company is on the block but declined to comment further on the reports.
Lanka Bell uses CDMA 2000 technology and offers WiMax data services. It has 509 base stations and 65 branch offices in the country, according to the Lanka Business Online.
