UK telecoms regulator Ofcom has launched its second investigation into ISP TalkTalk this year after complaints that it was mis-selling fixed-line telephone services.
Ofcom said on Monday that it is examining allegations that TalkTalk had switched telephone users had been switched to its service without their consent.
This is the second investigation into Ofcom this year. Earlier this year, it found that TalkTalk, together with Tiscali UK – which it acquired in 2009 – had been charging customers for services that had already been cancelled.
TalkTalk said that it is fully co-operating with Ofcom. In a statement, it said: “We continually review our sales processes and take any potential issues of mis-selling extremely seriously.”
