UK-based mobile services provider Lycamobile has launched services in Australia in partnership with Telstra Wholesale.
The company’s tenth mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) focuses on low cost international calls from prepaid SIMs.
Telstra Wholesale is a unit of incumbent Telstra that resells or leases telecom products to other companies at a fee. Lycamobile will be reselling services on Telstra’s network.
The other main mobile operators in Australia include Optus Mobile, Vodafone Hutchison Australia, Virgin Mobile (MVNO using Optus), Savvytel (MVNO using Vodafone) and Crazy John’s (MVNO using Vodafone).
