Cable & Wireless Communications has announced the appointment of Ian Tyler as a non-executive director, effective from 2011. Tyler, the CEO of UK infrastructure firm Balfour Beatty, will replace the retiring Kasper Rorsted. Rorsted joined the Board of Cable & Wireless in May 2003, before the group demerged into Cable & Wireless Communications and Cable & Wireless Worldwide earlier this year.
Welcoming Tyler’s appointment, Sir Richard Lapthorne, chairman of Cable & Wireless Communications, said: “His perspective and experience gained through a successful career in the infrastructure and construction industry … will be highly valuable to our Board.”
