Russian operator MTS is considering bidding for Ukrainian telecoms incumbent Ukrtelecom, VP for finance and investments and CFO Alexei Kornya was quoted saying in Dow Jones.
MTS spokesperson Joshua Tulgan confirmed that Kornya stated at a conference that the company was reviewing the tender’s terms and condition, also highlighting that the full details of these were not yet fully available.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine plans to hold an auction on December 28 to sell the state’s 92.8% stake in the telecoms incumbent. The starting price has reportedly been set at Hr10.5bn (E948m).
Ukraine has reportedly hired Millennium Capital as adviser for the privatisation.
