The auction of three licences for spectrum in the 850MHz, 1,800MHz and 2,100MHz ranges is still set to go ahead on 5 November, according to local press reports.
Despite 31 parties having purchased tender documents from the regulator, so far Claro, part of Carlos Slim’s America Móvil Group, is the only company to have confirmed its interest in participating in the auction.
It is widely believed that Cable & Wireless, Millicom, Digicel and Telefónica of Spain are also likely to be among the final participants.
