UK incumbent BT must reduce the fees it charges alternative operators for wholesale and broadband access because regulator Ofcom sets price caps too high, the Competition Appeal Tribunal has ruled.
According to the ruling, caps set in May 2009 were placed too high because of errors in Ofcom’s efficiency, wages and energy inflation calculations.
According to reports, the price changes will result in an adjustment of around £4m, which BT reportedly considers to be a minor change.
The Competition Appeal Tribunal refused to comment on the judgment, and BT was unable to comment before the deadline.
