Canadian quadruple-play operator Rogers Communication announced that it has launched the country’s first LTE broadband wireless network technical trial.
Working with equipment manufacturer Ericsson, the company is testing 4G in Ottowa and aiming for a speed of 150Mbps.
The technical trial will initially use 2100MHz band frequencies, whilst Rogers says that it is working with regulator Industry Canada to secure a development licence to use 700MHz spectrum for the trial.
