Swiss mobile operator Sunrise is planning to launch its own TV services, reported Telecompaper citing Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung.
According to the report, the move is backed by UK-based private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, which last week agreed to buy acquire Sunrise from Danish incumbent TDC for SFr3.3bn (E2.51bn).
Sunrise plans to launch a basic TV service on it unbundled ASDL2+ network, which will target its existing 212,000 broadband customers, the report adds.
CVC, which did not return calls, has said it expects to gain regulatory approval for its Sunrise acquisition within the next few months.
