According to media reports, the operator paid about TD116m (E60m) for its licence, a figure that a spokesperson at the ministry did not confirm.
Last year, Orange Tunisie won the first 3G licence as part of a combined mobile and fixed licence package.
Tunisia still owns 65% of Tunisie Telecom, while TeCom-DIG holds 35%.
The third operator on the market is Tunisiana, co-owned by Egypt’s Orascom and Qtel.
