Uncertainty surrounds Beijing Xinwei Technology Group’s acquisition of Spacecom after the Israeli operator’s latest satellite was destroyed during a SpaceX Falcon 9 static fire test. The Amos-6 spacecraft, ordered from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for US$195m in late 2014, was due to be launched on 3 September from SpaceX’s Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
