Mobile operator Cell C is close to selling its 50% stake in MVNO Virgin Mobile South Africa, TechCentral reports quoting an industry source.
A local mobile handset distributor may be eying the stake, while Blue Label Telecom had reportedly been interested in the MVNO in the past.
The other 50% stake is held by Richard Banson’s Virgin Group.
Virgin Mobile SA reportedly has 300,000 subscribers and has been EBITDA-positive since last October.
Cell C was not immediately available for comment.
