Russian fixed-line operator Comstar UTS has finalised the acquisition of alternative operator Penza Telecom for Rbs630m (US$19.9m).
The buyer will also assume Penza Telecom’s Rbs43.8m net debt.
It said in a release: “The acquisition of Penza Telecom is in line with the regional development strategy of MTS and Comstar.”
Penza Telecom had 47,000 broadband, 42,000 pay-TV and 1,500 telephony services subscribers at the end of Q1. It offers services in the cities of Penza and Zarechye.
The company’s revenues were up 40% year on year to Rbs242m with OIBDA margin of 34% for 2009.
