Siminger joins from digital security firm Oberthur Technologies and will assume the title of president.
Sigfox said he has more than 20 years of experience in MEA mobile, M2M and IT markets.
The company, which is aiming for an IPO with a US$1bn-plus valuation in mid-2017, already operates its IoT network in 10 European countries and is in the process of building out a network in the US.
“Sigfox has always planned to build a dedicated [IoT] network that covers the world and provides ubiquitous and seamless connectivity to billions of objects that will use the IoT,” said deputy CEO Xavier Drilhon.
