US DTH provider Dish Network has announced that its executive vice president and CFO, Robert Olson, is to retire from the company on 15 October.
He will be succeeded by Steve Swain, Dish’s current senior vice president of programming.
Olson joined Dish in 2009 having served as chief financial officer at Trane Commercial Systems from 2006 to 2008. Prior to Trane, he was CFO at AT&T’s Business Services division from 2004 to 2006 and its Commercial Services division for a year prior.
Prior to his appointment as senior vice president of programming, Swain served as vice president of corporate financial planning and analysis for Dish.
He joined the company in 2011, having spent 15 years working in the telecommunications sector, most recently at CenturyLink, formerly Qwest Communications.
Dish president and CEO Joseph Clayton commented: “Robert is as capable and strategic a CFO as I have ever encountered in my 42 years in business. I congratulate Robert on the excellent service he has given Dish over the past five years and for the capable team he has built.
“Steve has been a star since the day he arrived. He has a command of the entire finance organisation and, having had the chance to lead our programming group, he is equipped to offer a sound strategic perspective to our entire business.”
