Satellite communication services provider Globecomm Systems has merged its two European-based subsidiaries C2C and Mach6 to form a single unit, Globecomm Europe.
The move follows the company recently re-branding its South African operation as Globecomm Systems SA and is part of a wider strategy to unify the Globecomm brand following a series of bolt-on acquisitions over the past couple of years.
Netherlands-based satellite services provider Mach6 was originally purchased in a cash and share deal back in March 2009. Globecomm then acquired its Dutch peer Carrier to Carrier Telecom (C2C) alongside South Africa-based Evolution Communication Ltd (Evocomm) from C2C Holdings for a combined US$15m in mid-2010.
