Eutelsat has named Andrew Wallace as its new chief commercial officer, giving him leadership of the company’s overall sales and marketing activities. The satellite operator has also announced the appointment of David Bair as its chief technical officer.
Wallace will replace Olivier Milliès-Lacroix who has been with Eutelsat since 1991. Eutelsat stated that Milliès-Lacroix is to leave the company this month to pursue other interests in the media and telecoms sectors
Prior to joining Eutelsat, Wallace was the marketing director at set-top-box developer Pace. He has also held a number of positions at Cable & Wireless in its Paris, London and Singapore offices.
David Bair joins Eutelsat from EchoStar Satellite Services where he was senior vice president of Space Programmes and Operations. During his tenure, EchoStar instituted a new flight operations group to fly its own satellites, and the EchoStar fleet grew from five to 14 spacecraft.
Prior to EchoStar, Bair was VP and chief engineer of commercial space programmes at Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems. He has also held the position of programme manager and chief engineer on several commercial programmes at General Electric AstroSpace.
