Telenor Group has appointed Ms Hilde Tonne as Deputy Head of Asia Region, effective August 1 2010.
Tonne, 44, will be based at the Telenor Group Asia head office in Bangkok and will report to Sigve Brekke, EVP and Head of Asia Region.

Telenor Group has appointed Ms Hilde Tonne as Deputy Head of Asia Region, effective August 1 2010.
Tonne, 44, will be based at the Telenor Group Asia head office in Bangkok and will report to Sigve Brekke, EVP and Head of Asia Region.
Tonne joined Telenor in 2007 from Norsk Hydro, where she was the Head of Technology & Research in Hydro Oil & Energy. Tonne also serves on the Board of Directors in Det Norske Veritas AS and Statkraft AS. She holds a Master of Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim.
Tonne said of her appointment: “This fast growing region represents a substantial part of the future of the company, and Telenor is positioned as a major player in the industry. That is something I want to contribute to. My move to Asia is also motivated by a wish to come closer to the operational business and to combine my group experience with local focus in the marketplace.”
