Space insurance underwriter Liberty Syndicates has signed a contract with satellite operator Intelsat for the provision of technical support for its Satellite Insurance account. The deal grants Liberty access to Intelsat’s engineering services.
Intelsat offers a variety of third party satellite engineering and operational consulting services and Liberty underwriter Simon Clapham claimed that this satellite engineering experience would enable his company to offer greater risk solutions to their clients.
Liberty Syndicates is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Liberty Mutual Group and operates in the Lloyd’s. The unit has an insurance capacity of £910m for 2010.
