Russian mobile operator MegaFon (MCX:MFON)’s board of directors has officially approved the election of former CEO Sergey Soldatenkov as its chairman, according to a stock exchange filing.
He replaces Aimo Eloholma.

Russian mobile operator MegaFon (MCX:MFON)’s board of directors has officially approved the election of former CEO Sergey Soldatenkov as its chairman, according to a stock exchange filing.
He replaces Aimo Eloholma.
The CEO of MegaFon between 2003 and 2012, Soldatenkov has also held senior executive positions at North-West Telecom and Telecominvest, as well as at non-telecoms companies including United Company GROS, ARS and Impex-Group.
The number two operator last month acquired local exchange carrier GARS, and this month signed a €150m ECA-backed loan.
