India’s Tata Teleservices Limited (BSE:532371) has announced Anuraag Srivastava as its new CFO.
Srivastava was previously senior vice president of internal audit and assurance at Indus Towers, a JV owned by Vodafone, Bharti Airtel and Idea.
He has also held senior roles at Future Axiom Telecom Limited and GlaxoSmithKline.
Srivastava has 20 years of experience in finance, across India, the US, UK and South Asia.
A JV between Japan’s NTT DoCoMo (TYO:9437) and Tata Sons, Tata Teleservices is likely to play a role in the expected consolidation of India’s 13 mobile operators.
In March, it was reported that the company was in advanced merger talks with Telenor-owned rival Uninor.
Tata Sons is separately looking to buy out Japanese partner NTT DoCoMo’s 26.5% stake in the JV for some Rs72.5bn (US$1.14bn), having failed to find a third party buyer.
Tata Teleservices is the country’s number seven player, with 62.6 million customers, according to official Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) figures.
