Numericable BeLux has agreed to acquire regional Belgian rival Wolu TV, the target has announced, for a reported €18m (US$19.9m). The cableco is owned by the council of Woluwe-Saint Lambert, one of Brussels’ 19 municipalities.
The Altice (AMS:ATC)-owned entity reportedly beat out Telenet, the local cableco owned by Liberty Global (NASDAQ: LBTYA).
Spokespeople for Altice, Wolu TV and Liberty Global were not immediately available for comment.
Altice is already present in Belgium, via cableco Numericable BeLux and premium sport channel Ma Chaine Sport TV (MCSTV).
