Pawel Szymanski has been dismissed as CEO of Polish fixed-line operator Netia, just two months after taking on the role.
No reason was given for the board’s decision to sack Szymanski, who joined Netia as CFO last year from local real estate company Marvipol.
Boguslawa Matuszewska, a member of the board, has been installed as interim CEO from 6 July until 6 October, while Netia hunts for a new permanent leader.
Szymanski’s key achievement in his short time in charge of Netia was securing a deal to buy TK Telekom from state railway operator PKP Group for PLN221m (US$61m).
His predecessor, Adam Sawicki, handed in his resignation at the end of January to take the helm at Deutsche Telekom’s Polish unit.
