The chairman of Saudi mobile operator Mobily, Abdulaziz Al Saghyir, has resigned from the role for health reasons.
His resignation is effective immediately but he will remain on the board of directors, the company said in a filing with the local stock exchange.
Suliman bin Abdulrahman Al-Gwaiz has taken over as chairman. He is also chair of Banque Saudi Fransi and governor of state-owned fund, the General Organization for Social Insurance.
Mobily reported a surprise loss of SR2.28bn (US$607.9m) for the final quarter of 2014. In November, alleged accounting errors saw it revise its profit for 2013 and the first half of 2014 down by SR1.43bn (US$381.3m).
That same month, the company suspended CEO Khalid Omar al Kaf pending the completion of an investigation into accounting issues. Deputy CEO Serkan Okandan is replacing him in the interim.
