Maroc Telecom unit Gabon Telecom has reportedly appointed Abdelhalim Kounan as its new CEO.
Kounan replaces Lhoussaine Oussalah, who will take on new responsibilities in the Ivory Coast, African media cited Maroc Telecom CEO Abdeslam Ahizoune as saying during a recent meeting with Gabon president Ali Bongo Ondimba.
In late January, Maroc Telecom closed its €474m acquisition of Atlantique Telecom, which operates under the Moov brand in several central and west African countries, including the Ivory Coast, from the UAE’s Etisalat. Local reports have suggested Oussalah will take the helm of the business in the Ivory Coast.
Maroc Telecom and Gabon Telecom were not immediately available for comment.
