Singapore’s incumbent telco SingTel has completed its A$13m (US$10.15m) acquisition of Australian cloud specialist Ensyst.
The deal boosts the Microsoft product offering of Singtel’s Australian unit Optus, which will roll out Ensyst’s collaborative solutions to business and government customers.
Optus accounted for more than half of the S$4.43bn (US$3.54bn) in Q3 2014 revenues that Singtel reported last week.
Singtel posted a 11.2% rise in profit after tax to S$971.2m (US$777m) for the three months to 31 December 2014, compared with S$873.4m (US$699m) for the corresponding period in 2013.
It also owns stakes in other large Asian telcos including India’s Bharti Airtel and Indonesia’s Telkomsel.
