Vodafone India has promoted Naveen Chopra to the role of chief operating officer, effective 1 April.
Chopra first joined Vodafone in 2004 as vice president of corporate marketing and, for the past five years, has served as director of the Vodafone Business Services (VBS) unit.
Announcing the appointment today, the Mumbai-based operator said Chopra has led VBS’ expansion into new customer and product segments, contributing substantially to its business success.
Chopra succeeds Sunil Sood, who will replace Martin Pieters as managing director and chief executive officer from 1 April.
Chopra’s successor at VBS has not yet been named.
A 100% subsidiary of the UK-based Vodafone Group, Vodafone India claims to serve 180 million customers across the country.
