UAE-based operator Etisalat has named Sulaiman Salim Al-Kaabi as the new acting CEO of its Sudanese subsidiary Canar.
In his 16 years with the group, Al-Kaabi has worked at its units in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Tanzania and, most recently, Cote d’Ivoire, where he was chief operating officer, Etisalat said in a statement.
He replaces former CEO Ali Ahmed Yarouf.
Etisalat chief human resources officer AbdulAziz Alsawaleh Alshehhi said Al-Kaabi “has succeeded in a variety of challenging roles and we have every faith in his ability to thrive in his new role as acting CEO of Canar.”
Etisalat owns more than 80% of Canar, which is Sudan’s largest fixed-line player.
