Digicel Haiti, a subsidiary of Jamaica-based Digicel Group, has appointed Carlos Caceres as CEO, replacing Maarten Boute, who has been named as chairman.
Caceres joined Digicel Group in April 2014 as commercial director for the Caribbean and Central America, having previously worked for Millicom.
Maarten held the position of CEO between 2009 and 2012, before being appointed to the top role again in April 2014.
As chairman, he will oversee the strategy of the business with a particular focus on Digicel Haiti’s external media, institutional relations, and regulatory affairs, the company said.
Founded in 2001, Digicel Group operates in 32 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia Pacific, providing services to about 13 million subscribers.
Digicel Haiti is the country’s largest mobile operator.
